I think the music in that film is brilliant, moody and perfect for the film. In many ways plays against type in that it's not your typical "horror movie" soundtrack. While not as anachronistic as Goblin's Dawn of the Dead score had been, Romero was still pursuing a creative and experimental vision (in terms of film and music), and achieved it here. Frankly, he's never done a film or a score since that's been as good as Day of the Dead.
