Magdalena Solis - Lady Of The Wild Things mp3 flac

Magdalena Solis, a rock project by three versatile players, can open the novel experimental psychedelic curtain by means of their debut album "Lady Of The Wild Things". The first ghostly electronica "March Hare" is nothing but an entrance into the dream. Sounds dreamy especially the beginning of the following one "Count Your Blessings" but do not be deceived. exactly this comfort is mind-expanding agent, that can draw your brain into intoxication

how would you describe what you do? We make music for people who allow their minds to travel to places it has never been. what are you currently working on? We have just released our first EP ‘Lady of the Wild Things’ on Reverb Worship. So we’re still a bit busy with that. Meanwhile we are thinking of ways to make our project survive and find gigs, which is not easy at the moment. Later this year we hope to finish the raw material we have for our first full album release. We are also working on a new videoclip. what has had the greatest influence on your work?

Reviews:

Terrascope
"The seven track EP "Lady Of The Wild Things" by Magdalena Solis comprises uncategorisable but enthralling pagan rock (? possibly) by two young ladies - or so it would seem from the cover. EP opener 'March Hare' startles and captivates, while the glockenspiel-haunted 'Count Your Blessings' is trippily weird. 'The Pigs Monastery' features bizarre samples, crows and narration, a real horror soundtrack, before entering freaky metal territory. 'Jinxed' is synthily scary, while 'Pink Sock Parade' is a masterful audio nightmare that for some reason reminded me of Kate Bush's 'The Ninth Wave.' 'Temple Prostitutes' channels some kind of ancient bestial aura to create another stunning track, while the concluding 'Zero Point Energy' is some kind of gothic space trip. Unique and utterly compelling: one third Hammer Horror, one third The Wicker Man, one third I don't know what, I did know I was going to dig this the moment I saw the artwork. More please."

"Hallucinogenic dry-fruity psychedelia from Brussels. Magdalena Solis, a rock project by three versatile players, can open the novel experimental psychedelic curtain by means of their debut album "Lady Of The Wild Things". The first ghostly electronica "March Hare" is nothing but an entrance into the dream. Sounds dreamy especially the beginning of the following one "Count Your Blessings" but do not be deceived ... exactly this comfort is mind-expanding agent, that can draw your brain into intoxication. Without your intention, you will get palpitating with your deserted psychological depth, dragged by their cranky psychoactive creation named "The Pigs Monastery". Swiftly run away from such a weird place into another comfort ... dry and spicy metallic-wind blows over the juicy fruit-garden. You can feel directly sweetness and sourness via "Jinxed". And very interesting is the next "Pink Sock Parade" (Oh, what happens?), with much ethnic flavour by a bugle or so - very good that the boo-boo bugle cannot be fit for beautiful female chorus. You can realize that's not simply a mellow dream, and they can manage their dreamy essence and eerie one both, the fullest use - e.g. "Temple Prostitutes" ... very amazing that Prostitute is exactly the opposite of Temple the solemn word. Their energetic Kraut-ish debut shot can knock you over the real world, and you can never come back, bonded with the last dreamy orchestration. Recommended."

Fatea Magazine
"Lady Of The Wild Things" is and album steeped in psyche, not only the sound, but also of the goddess like figure from whome it is derived. It's an album that on first and even second or third listening is hard going. It wears it's continental roots on it's long and swirling sleeve, but at it's heart does beat a genuine wildness. If you give them the chance, Magdalena Solis, will reveal an album that reaches out and touches the darker side of the mind, but in a midnight blue and stars sort of way. It won't be to all tastes but, it is an album that has a thrall like quality that seeks opportunity."

“This is Belgiums finest Psych project right now. I recommended Magdalena Solis earlier this year. Their limited debut album/ep is sold out, I am a bit unsure if there is a re-release right now.
Anyway - Magdalena Solis is pure colorful and surreal blizz. It's best to compare with Alejandro Jodorowsky’s movies. Weird things happen under a bright sun! Ok, their music sounds dark, like the soundtrack to a psychedelic ritual. The most outstanding track is "Pink Sock Parade" a weird tribal piece with a spacey synth tune and lots of percussions, vibrating bells and ahh oh ahhs.”

“A Belgian trio with a taste for the dark side. Computer-assembled / manipulated jams / samples that ride a fine line between childlike and sinister. Sometimes recalls Hawkwind and sometimes Comus fed through an electronic mangle.”
