Steady As She Goes marks Voodoo Glow Skulls ' first release since exiting their longtime home at punk haven Epitaph Records and moving their group to the more hardcore independent label Victory. Despite the label change, Voodoo Glow Skulls have retained the ska/punk style they are well known for, as the album offers a thick slab of upbeat, sometimes inane punk rock. The artwork and packaging are truly fabulous, as they depict a pirate theme; yet that theme rarely carries over into the group's music, excluding the rollicking "Yo-ho-ho" essence of "One for the Road.
Band Name Voodoo Glow Skulls. Album Name Steady As She Goes. Data de aparición 02 Julio 2002. Labels Victory Records. Miembros poseen este álbum2. 3. Nada en la Cabeza.
Entitled Steady As She Goes, the 12-track effort (13 if you count Little Red Riding Hood ) smacked its consumers right on the noggin July 2nd, 2002. From a musical standpoint, the album features the Skulls' traditional fusion of old-school ska song structures, a punk rock attitude, and metallic riffs. This is a formula that the band certainly knows how to work with to their advantage. The title ditty, for one, is a prime example of that. Even if this self-produced record suffers from an uneven tone and songwriting that leaves much to be desired, Voodoo Glow Skulls' Steady As She Goes is a damn fine third-wave ska album that comes equipped with the entertainment factor and delicious musicianship the lot of you would anticipate from this style of music.
Steady as She Goes is the Voodoo Glow Skulls' sixth full-length album. It was released on July 2, 2002, on Victory Records. Steady as She Goes is a 2011 album by Hot Tuna, the band's first studio album since 1990. After Jorma Kaukonen recorded his solo album in 2009 at Levon Helm's studio in NY, he asked his new record company Red House if they would be interested in a Tuna album. The band started recording new tracks in November 2010 with the same producer and studio that Kaukonen used for River of Time and features the latest lineup of the band that formed in 2009 when Skoota Warner joined on drums. On March 11, 2011 Red House released Angel of Darkness as a free single
