The Beau Brummels - Live! mp3 flac

Live! is a live album by American rock group The Beau Brummels. The album, released in August 2000 by Dig Music, was recorded in February 1974 near Sacramento, California, shortly after it was announced that the band had reunited. The album includes a mix of performances of their most commercially singles, including "Laugh, Laugh" and "Just a Little," as well as then-new material, some of which would be recorded for the band's 1975 eponymous studio album.

This is a very alluring and also a somewhat misleading CD. On the plus side, just to dispel any doubts, it is live, and it does feature the five-man Beau Brummels (Sal Valentino, Ron Elliott, Ron Meagher, Dec Mulligan, and John Petersen). And this is a good, professional recording.

Profile: San Francisco pop group active from 1963 to 1968 with several hit singles in the US. Members were guitarist and main song writer Ron Elliott (2), vocalist Sal Valentino, bassist Ron Meagher and drummer John Petersen (3). Original rhythm guitarist Dec Mulligan was later replaced by Don Irving. By 1968 only Elliott and Valentino were still in the group. The band reunited in 1975 and recorded one more album. In total they produced 6 studio albums.

Live! is a live album by American rock group The Beau Brummels. In February 1974, Billboard magazine reported that the Beau Brummels re-formed in San Francisco. This followed a five-year hiatus in which individual band members-vocalist Sal Valentino, guitarist Ron Elliott, rhythm guitarist Ron Meagher, bassist Declan Mulligan and drummer John Petersen-pursued solo projects, participated in recording with other artists, or both in some cases. Within days of the announcement, the band performed at the Shire Road Pub in Fair Oaks Village near Sacramento, California. The band's popularity continued with the subsequent album, 1965's Introducing the Beau Brummels, and the Top 10 single "Just a Little. The group's commercial success declined by the following year, at which time.

This compact disc features a live performance of this 1960's band. However, it's from a 1974 reunion concert, thus, that's where the surprises begin. The most pleasant surprise was hearing 9 previously unrealeased songs from the band. These songs weren't even on the Brummels 1975 reunion album. The song genres range from country to rock to funk and a few other things. The other main surprise of this performance is how the band sounds. They do sound like a 1970's band. This is mainly acheived because of the 2 guitars players. They are using all sorts of interesting guitar effects such as wah-wah pedals. As a guitarist who has just gotten into using effects I find this educational. Occasionally, this performance gets slightly ragged, but overall it is quite satisfying. And Sal Valentino's voice is as good as it was during the 1960's. In my opinion song highlights include Turn Around/Singing Cowboy, Lisa Queen of a Magazine, & Don't Talk To Strangers.
