Distillation (Erin McKeown album). HIDDEN ERROR: Usage of "Related Acts" is not recognized. Erin McKeown (pronounced "mick-YONE") is an American t and folk-rock singer/songwriter. McKeown began her career in the folk scene.

Rather than being of derivative of roots music, bluegrass, country blues, and folk, McKeown distills these genres. She melted down these styles, incorporated the spirit of them, and came up with her own voice. This article needs additional citations for verification. Another reviewer griped about the photo of the artist on the back with a banjo when no banjo is credited on any song. He's right: that's just misleading, and speaking for myself, I couldn't be happier about that, I think that is great. But I'm really upset about the photo of the radio on the front: I hear no old radio playing on this! But I suppose I'll forgive Erin and the gang 'cuz this is enjoyable set of softly spoken folk and country blues and hillbilly and other old-timey sounds. Fans of old radios and dusty banjos will likely be satisfied as hummingbirds sucking nectar from trumpet vine in the summertime.

picked this up because it has the tune 'Fast As I Can' on it, which is very beautiful. The version on this LP though is a bit limp. There's no chorus, it's a watered down version that doesnt do justice to the one I was looking for. Didn't know there were multiple versions. My second gripe is that Erin is pictured with a banjo on the back cover, but there are no banjo tunes on the whole record, that i can hear. Other than that, it's a solid 2.5 out of 5 stars.
