The CD bonus tracks 'The Tightrope' and 'Like An Animal (Club What Club?)' are also separated by a 60 second musical interlude at the start of the latter on 1990 CDs.

Smith's distinctive warbling on the first-class "Perfect Murder" takes the album directly into Cure territory, as do the instrumentals which could equally find a home on Seventeen Seconds. While musically diverse, the album's lyrics rarely stray from the dual themes of death and sex, furthering the gothic undertones so often heard in Smith and Severin's previous work.

Blue Sunshine is the only album by The Glove – a collaborative project between Robert Smith of The Cure and Steven Severin of Siouxsie and the Banshees. The band name is a reference to the big blue glove from the Beatles film Yellow Submarine, which can be seen at the top of the cover. Due to the fact that Robert Smith was prohibited from singing on another artist’s album by his label contract, they recruited Jeanette Landray, dancer from Top of the Pops dance troupe Zoo to sing for him. Smith, however, still recorded vocals for each song, and they’re compiled on the 2012 CD remaster  . the glove project was good deranged fun – an artistic indulgence – but i wish i had sung on all of it. musically it was fab, lyrically a bit patchy (severin bits – oops!), but overall i’m proud of it.
