Eardrums Music started in 2006, closed down in 2013 - and was resurrected in 2015. The song may end up on my album later this year. And a big THANK YOU! : -) If I get more submissions than there are lines in the lyric, I can not promise that I can use everyone's voice.
So far, the Eardrums saga could be characterized by an obstinate refusal to relinquish control or accept conventional wisdom as gospel. The Eardrums provides with a fresh and vital blend of garage rock, blues, and classic punk sounds that is utterly alien among their contemporaries in Winnipeg and beyond, but remains instantly familiar to anyone who remembers the primal thrill of rock and roll.
Anatomically, it relates superiorly to the middle cranial fossa, posteriorly to the ossicles and facial nerve, inferiorly to the parotid gland, and anteriorly to the temporomandibular joint.
Sure this album has a slightly harder edge while remaining somewhat melodic, but its still pop. The songs attempt to be sing-along anthems and fail miserably. The guitar riffs are catchy, but they all sound like they've been used before in a song that likely sounded better. It seemed as though with every song, about a minute before it was scheduled to end, I was ready to flip to the next song. There were two songs I was able to somewhat make it through without wanting to poke holes in my eardrums, and those were "Halfway" (which is supposed to be the single) and "Evolution. The chorus for "Evolution" is somewhat catchy, with the lyrics being: "if you came here tonight to hear one song/ I hope you sing along/ cuz misery loves company/ and I can't do it alone. Still nothing that spectacular, but fun to sing along to.
