The Midnight Organ Fight is the second studio album by Scottish indie rock band Frightened Rabbit. Recorded during 2007 between studios at Bridgeport, Connecticut and Glasgow, Scotland, the album was released on 15 April 2008 through independent label Fat Cat Records. Hailed by critics as "one of the finest of recent vintage", frontman Scott Hutchison has described the album as being "a lot more intense" than its predecessor Sing the Greys (2006)

This album by Glasgow-based band Frightened Rabbit describes the lead singer Scott Hutchinson’s emotional state following a breakup. The title, which appears in Fast Blood, refers to sex. The band completed a short 10 year anniversary tour of the album in 2018, in which the band played the album in its entirety. Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison ranked The Midnight Organ Fight as Frightened Rabbit’s album in an interview with Noisey: The Midnight Organ Fight has given us our career, essentially

The Midnight Organ Fight is the second studio album by Scottish indie rock band Frightened Rabbit, released April 15, 2008, on Fat Cat Records. Vocalist/guitarist Scott Hutchison describes the album as being "quite relationshippy" and "a lot more intense" than its predecessor Sing the Greys. Following the album's completion, it took a month for Hutchison to be able to listen to it. Lyrically, Hutchison states that "most of the lyrics are pretty direct" and that the album "almost spells out what’s happened

The Midnight Organ Fight. They call themselves Frightened Rabbit, but there's nothing shy or timid about this Glasgow trio. On The Midnight Organ Fight, singer/guitarist Scott Hutchison says what he thinks-what he feels-and he doesn't hold anything back. That doesn't make the follow-up to 2006's Sings the Greys a difficult or painful listen. I'm not a vinyl snob; I just prefer it when I truly enjoy the entirety of an album. This easily falls into that category.

The Frightened Rabbit frontman had sung about his depression ever since the band’s debut Sing the Greys, going so far as to discuss his thoughts toward suicide, a theme hauntingly prescient in the track ‘Floating in the Forth’ from the band’s sophomore The Midnight Organ Fight. But look: Scott was alive for ten years after The Midnight Organ Fight, and he’d been struggling with depression long before that.

Midnight Organ Flight is full of rousing barnburners that flicker with soul, ballads that ache with masculine vulnerability, and Frightened Rabbit's best song yet, opener "The Modern Leper". Built on insistently downstroked guitars and drums that build from a gallop to a thundering crash, this Pixies-go-acoustic track swells with self-loathing. Though nothing else on the album hits the pop high of its opener- "Leper" is a tough act to follow- its I'm-not-worthy sentiments are prevalent on all the album's best tracks. On "The Twist", a desperate yet tender ballad built on a similar freight-train piano line as LCD Soundsystem's "All My Friends", the protagonist practically begs for sex- "I can be who you like," he pleads- while sadly allowing himself to be used.
