Hillbilly Bop Boogie & Honky Tonk Blues 1, Var. Back.

48 rompin' stompin' examples of hillbilly bop, boogie and the honky tonk blues from 1948 to 1950. The kind of music that Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley were listening to in their formative years. Dim lights, thick smoke and loud, loud music, hillbilly music with a beat. Immediately following WWII, the independent Hillbilly music scene was a ou-pants game. The large record labels had established artists but many of these cuts are on the plethora of independent labels that sprang up in the 1940s. The primary style here is electric honky tonk, some of it in the boogie style that helped mold rockabilly, and Western Swing.
