While the first single from Feeling Strangely Fine doesn't necessarily show it very well, there is a lot of Ben Folds Five in Semisonic. Both employ a variety of different instruments, thus creating a sound that is sometimes very, very comparable. This is never more evident than on the fourth track, "Never You Mind. Feeling Strangely Fine, however, allows the motif to overtake the album.

Full of double meaning and precision songcraft, Feeling Strangely Fine takes the listener on a heartfelt journey through all the stages of a relationship. Published on. March 24, 2019. Following the critical success of their previous album, Great Divide (which Rolling Stone called one of the best albums of 1996 ), Semisonic’s world was turned upside down. Almost overnight the group went from a solid adult contemporary outfit to radio juggernauts thanks to success of a little song you might know called ‘Closing Time’, the opening track off their second studio album, Feeling Strangely Fine.

Semisonic’s second album, Feeling Strangely Fine, is being reissued on vinyl for the first time for it’s 20th anniversary. Even better, this is a double vinyl package with bonus tracks. The 1998 album features two brilliant singles in Closing Time and Secret Smile although Singing In My Sleep is also pretty good and was a minor hit in the UK. The late nineties was very much the era of the CD so the album wasn’t issued on vinyl in any territory

in waiting
Merely a decent pressing unfortunately. Awesome album but the sound isn't great. Still, obviously pick it up (or the black, which I don't have) since it's the only vinyl release.
