The Bootleg Series Vol. 5: Bob Dylan Live 1975, The Rolling Thunder Revue is a live album by Bob Dylan released by Columbia Records in 2002. Until the release of this album, the only official live documentation of the Rolling Thunder Revue was Hard Rain, recorded during the (less critically well received) second leg of the tour.

Because the Revue's material was relatively similar from night to night, we decided to choose what we considered were the best of these performances and assemble them roughly the way they might have occurred once Bob Dylan stepped onto the stage. We also decided not to duplicate the two previously released versions of "Romance In Durango" and "Isis" which were included on 1985's multi-disc set "Biograph".

Bob Dylan Live 1975 is a definitive twenty-two-song, two-CD document with DVD that captures the Fellini-esque splendor and chaos of the caravan. In contrast to the Band’s murderously precise country soul, the Rolling Thunder crew at times sounds so loose it threatens to collapse, only to be kept on course by Rob Stoner’s pliant bass lines. Scarlett Rivera’s swooping, swooning violin was Rolling Thunder’s signature instrument, and Dylan sounds liberated, free to attack the songs from almost any angle, his voice feral, his mood frisky.

Producer's Note: Although crude bootlegs of these performances have circulated for years, we felt that the only way to capture the excitement of these remarkably powerful stage performances was by limiting our selections only to the 24 track recordings made by a professional sound truck in Worcester, Boston, Cambridge and Montreal.
