Mason enlisted strong vocal assistance from Graham Nash and David Crosby and the Manhattan Transfer. But he had set a higher songwriting standard for himself than he was meeting here. Originally released by Columbia Records as Columbia 33698, Split Coconut was reissued on CD by One Way Records as One Way 26079 on September 26, 1995.
