Profile: German EBM/Synth Pop band that has been active since 1989.

Genetics check out. A sensible chuckle to distract from the devastation. Once again: UK Parliament rejects alternatives to May’s Brexit deal. The Hexstat probability. nice design for student room with some privcy.

The album was the first reference to Electronic Body Music (EBM) when the band included the phrase "Electronic Body Music Composed And Produced On Eight Tracks By Front 242" in reference to their use of an 8-track recording device.

I’m sure the genes have helped him learning his skills probably but even with the genetics on his side, he got where he’s at now because of hard work, dedication, passion, and last but not least his musicianship! Black Country Communion fills the need of millions of people who love that old skool rock music.

Track B6 is a mix of 5 unreleased songs.
A four piece group consisting of Steve Clerk, Gaga Creen, Albery Lloydt & Ted Perkins. The first track, "Trajectory (Sector III: Theocracy)" opens up with huge chaotic Industrial sounds before setting off on a simplistic-but-edgy instrumental track, dark but suggestive of better things to come. It ends with an Industrial cacophony out of which rises the medium-fast-paced "Mesopotamia" - this is an interesting piece of EBM with lots of stops for 'noise breaks'. This might get people up and moving (in fact I could picture it playing to a smoky, sweaty Techno/Industrial disco). Next is "Genetics", keeping much the same tempo, although the sounds themselves are much milder & warmer. "Shaved Legs (Degeneration)" has a slower tempo and some thin 'Casio' sounds contrasting with deeper, meatier, thicker sounds. Next up is "Red Sweat - Harmony", a short piece of medium pace with a handful of interesting sounds to it. "Insincerity (Panegyric)" is next, at around 100 RPM - a sort of cross between FRONT 242 & DEPECHE MODE, with definite leanings towards the darker side. "I Read My Obituary" enters on dark waves of sound and tinkling synth sounds. It becomes a medium tempo yet strangely slow piece of music - quite sombre with the vocalist's deep sandpaper quality adding to the mood. "Systematization (Sedation)" finishes off side one beginning with dramatic Industrial sounds before thumping into a fast moving track with a much brighter sound. Side two starts off with "Kiss The Carpet", a fairly complicated piece which has sudden lapses into silence, before continuing on its medium-paced way. "White Light" is a definite album track, not without it's own quirkiness and character. "Voluptuary (Invitation)" begins with sombre Industrial sounds before becoming a medium-fast paced track, snappy snare high in the mix while the bass drives it along. "Never Trust - Harmony (Salacity)" again begins with interesting noises before the track itself kicks into life, bright and fast with an unusual 'wheezing' sound in the background. "Economy" begins quietly, delicate sounds moving in and out of the mix in impressive harmony. It picks up tempo a little, but keeps the atmosphere with the vocalist (deliberately?) singing off-key. The album closes with the epic "Trajectory (Sector IV: Thalidomide)" which is split into five sections. It's a medium-paced thing with plenty of interesting twists and turns, perhaps even harkening back to the days of TANGERINE DREAM and the 'Cosmic' electronic music, although NO COMMENT inject it with a little more thunder. A good, well recorded, well arranged cassette album from a group you may soon hear more of. Unafraid to vary & experiment in their sound, they manage to 'pull it off' every time. Next move should be to vinyl / CD guys! Originally reviewed for Soft Watch.
