Gould had phenomenal technique, and he probably produced more precisely-played Bach than anyone in history. Interestingly, when I heard him in performance in the early 60's, what I remember how much I enjoyed his playing of the romantic composers. I can't recall which Bach pieces he performed. He was an icon, and stories about his idiosyncrasies will be discussed for decades to come. The disc is of interest for the two Italian Concertos which to my knowledge have not been on the same disc before.
