Juvenile as Slipknot’s early songs were, they at least had passion. There’s no passion here except maybe in the first song. Everything else is listless and lifeless, often obnoxious, but never pleasing. I really can't recommend this album other than the tracks Dead Memories and Snuff. There's just not enough going on here to make it worth while, although if you're just starting off on your metal journey then this will probably be the epitome of the genre for you. But overtime you'll come to realize this is a matter of style over substance just like I did. If you're looking for down to earth, emotional and powerful music then look elsewhere, if you want boring and banal music then you'll love this.

If the truth be told, it was really my wife who persuaded me to sign Slipknot, says Roadrunner Records supremo Monte Conner. I really wasn’t sure I liked them but I was prevaricating. That and a character that they had in the band at that time – called, I think, The Baby – swung me.
Slipknot have announced that they will celebrate the 15th anniversary of 2001 album " Iowa " by performing it in its entirety. Speaking about "Iowa" with Metal Hammer recently, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor revealed that the band did not want to put out a rehash of their 1999 debut record, even though the record company wanted them to repeat the success of main single " Wait and Bleed ": "Everyone and their mom was trying to get us to write ten more 'Wait And Bleeds', but fuck you, we've already done that," he said
