Juvenile as Slipknot’s early songs were, they at least had passion. There’s no passion here except maybe in the first song. Everything else is listless and lifeless, often obnoxious, but never pleasing. I really can't recommend this album other than the tracks Dead Memories and Snuff. There's just not enough going on here to make it worth while, although if you're just starting off on your metal journey then this will probably be the epitome of the genre for you. But overtime you'll come to realize this is a matter of style over substance just like I did. If you're looking for down to earth, emotional and powerful music then look elsewhere, if you want boring and banal music then you'll love this.

If the truth be told, it was really my wife who persuaded me to sign Slipknot, says Roadrunner Records supremo Monte Conner. I really wasn’t sure I liked them but I was prevaricating. That and a character that they had in the band at that time – called, I think, The Baby – swung me.

Slipknot have announced that they will celebrate the 15th anniversary of 2001 album " Iowa " by performing it in its entirety. As Blabbermouth reports, the complete run though will take place at the Ozzfest Meets Knotfest festival on Sunday, September 25 at San Manuel Amphitheater at Festival Grounds in San Bernardino, California. Speaking about "Iowa" with Metal Hammer recently, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor revealed that the band did not want to put out a rehash of their 1999 debut record, even though the record company wanted them to repeat the success of main single " Wait and Bleed ": "Everyone and their mom was trying to get us to write ten more 'Wait And Bleeds', but fuck you, we've already done that," he said

Slipknot had to cancel five North American dates at the start of this month to put the finishing touches on "Iowa," which, like the group's 1999 self-titled debut, was produced by Ross Robinson. The group is planning to make up the dates, although nothing has yet been scheduled. A stint on the Ozzfest tour as a mainstage act begins June 8 and, as reported yesterday, Slipknot will join several of the tour's acts for shows on off days. Slipknot's debut album peaked at No. 51 on The Billboard 200, and has sold more than . 4 million copies in the . according to SoundScan.

Conceptually, he added the album "breaks down t. .good vs. evil, or in this sense, evil vs. good. It's about being a human being and experiencing what you have in correlating it to this world. But what about when we'll get to hear this upcoming album? He's not ready to reveal all the details yet, but he does point to the band's upcoming tour dates "Nothing is in stone. There are songs that are considered the album, but everything can change. So with their first live shows coming up June 07, it looks like a new Slipknot album is on a relatively close horizon.
