Members of Texas is the Reason were happily exploring other projects when-suddenly-their largely forgotten little record starting getting some critical press. Despite once being forgotten, Do You Know Who You Are" has risen to a status of a classic emo album, joining Sunny Day Real Estate's Diary and The Promise Ring's Nothing Feels Good as 90s emo records that silently influenced a generation. But it's time for that influence to be silent no more; as Texas is the Reason has definitely not fallen by the wayside.

The title track shows Texas Is the Reason in an abyss of harmonic composure, providing a chance for the listener to catch his or her breath before plunging back into the melodic, enthusiastic rush of "Back and to the Left. While neither as harsh as many of their hardcore predecessors, nor as technical as their counterparts from Washington, . nor as poppy as many of the emo bands to come after them, but instead taking a bit from each, Texas Is the Reason provided the indie rock scene with a combination of all the elements that it took to produce a quality.

Texas is the Reason played a couple of reunion shows in New York in 2006. Why did it take so long to get together for a longer tour? Garrett Klahn: Those shows, that was more about unfinished business than it was about anything else. Pretty much the same exact scene from 17 years before when we went there to record the album. But once we got in there and got ourselves settled, it was right back to business. We worked for about 15 hours that first day and then Hurricane Sandy hit and shut down the city - we were in our pajamas for 24 hours drinking wine in a hotel room, watching shitty television, wasting away. After everything wraps up, what are your hopes for the legacy of the band? That we get it right, I guess. We didn't drag it out too much. I want to leave a nice-looking corpse.

The original pressing on silver is listed, there was also an original pressing on black which I don't see listed, this version is listed as a repress with Year listed as unknown, is this the original black pressing or does that need to be added? I am hoping someone can clarify and help me clear this up!
Tegore
The Silver is referring to silver writing on the cover, the record itself is black vinyl

My copy of this was bought sometimes in the early 2000's, so it is most likely a repress.
