Lists with This Book. The first story follows the Enterprise as it comes under a series of sonic attacks from an unknown source, which starts to drive the crew mad. And in the second story, a telepathic cat-like creature that the Enterprise is transporting for an ambassador escapes and causes havoc all over the ship. Also, there are some interesting anachronisms in the artwork (do to the artist’s unfamiliarity with the material) where Uhura appears is a white woman with blond hair, and Sulu is a black. Yet overall the comics are well-drawn and on-point with the look of the television series. Entertaining and bit of fun, Star Trek – The Crier In Emptiness & Passage To Moauv is an enjoyable read.

The Crier in Emptiness was the third of 11 TOS stories produced by Peter Pan Records. It was initially released in 1975 as an audio production along with two other stories. It was subsequently packaged by itself accompanied by a 20-page comic book. This was the third of seven stories set during Captain James T. Kirk’s first five-year mission aboard the USS Enterprise and the second of six with an associated comic book. In this story, the crew were visited by a non-corporeal entity composed of pure sound.

Anyone who has seen the original Star Trek episode This Way To Eden will not only get the Title quote from the episode but also get the wonderful absurdity of this issue.
